3 – Tier Organizers

The tier organizer is not only great for can foods, or spices, but it also can be used for organizing any body lotions, perfumes, medications, vitamins, any arts and crafts, and so much more you can do with these. They are expandable so they can fit on your shelf. Some of them like the one below, has a rubbery top to it so the items you put on it wont shift. They come in solid white without the rubber topping, and bamboo. You can get them at Dollar Tree, Walmart, Target, Kmart, and some other stores. There are different kinds of these organizers available; like the 3 tier wire rack.

For the dog lovers

Dollar Tree has these trash bags that are lightly scented. You get 50 in a bag for just a $1. Yes, 50 of them. I love them! They work well when I walk my dog. They make great poop bags. I store them in a drawer were all my my pet supplies are for dog walking, so they don't take up much space. I love them! They come in pink and blue. I haven't seen white, although they do have them on the Dollar Tree website.

Novelty Shaped Pans

Now here is a great idea for Superbowl weekend, or even for just a sports night with family and friends. Okay, so I was checking out Micheal's Arts and Crafts and they have these amazing novelty shaped pans that is normally used for baking cakes, however, why couldn't you use it to bake a meatloaf?!    I personally have not tried it yet, however, I will be the next time I make meatloaf. It comes in all different shapes and sizes. Since meatloaf is good with almost any kind of sauce, it would be fun to use as part of décor on the loaf.

Reusable Bags

Before I have never used a reusable bag until I have received them as gifts. I now have an amazing beautiful collection of them I use when I go grocery shopping, and farmers market. I take one of the smaller bags I have and take my lunch in it for work. I use one of the bags for my knitting, I put my knitting needles and yarn in there with a patter book so when Im at an appointment I can knit, or read while I wait to be called. They are also good for children who stays over their family or friends house. The reusable bags come in all colors, patterns, and sizes, to where they make a nice added touch of décor if used properly such as a trash bag for your car. They even make awesome gifts for a house warming. You can put in some goodies inside the bag and tie a bow around it like a gift basket and give it away as a gift. Some ideas to put inside the bag could be a basket you can find at a dollar tree, with a homemade recipe in a mason jar, a personalized cookbook of some good recipes, a couple of kitchen towels, a shopping list pad with a pen, and what ever else you would like to add in. That way, they have a few things to get them started, their reusable bag they have for groceries, a basket they can use to keep their items organized, kitchen towels to start them off, one of your favorite recipes, a small cookbook of some helpful ideas for meals, as well as a pen and paper to do their shopping. Here are some of the reusable bags I use that I love.

Where I keep my bags organized.

This one comes with a mini version.

Bedding Terror

I don't know about you, but I sure don't like sleeping in my bed and waking up to a fitted sheet that has come off on a side or two of my mattress. Every morning I have to fix the sheet and it takes away some time during my day just to pull everything off and fixing it. So here is an experiment I have tried and has worked. I put my fitted sheet on my box spring and then placed a bed skirt over the box spring. So not only does this takes care of my fitted sheet problem, but it also keeps my bed skirt from moving around to much if the mattress happens to shift a little. On top of my bed, I use the flat sheet as my top sheet. I tuck in the top sheet and use that as my foundation of my bed. Another good tip to use in sheet, blankets, even comforters, is to buy a size larger than what your original size bed is. If you have a full size bed, I go up to a Queen when purchasing blankets, and comforters.

Jewelry for Decorating, Really?

One day, I was putting my flowers I bought from Safeway into a vase I had, which looks similar to the vase below, and I thought to myself, how I can add to the vase to help it look for beautified. I tried added in some of the colored rock pebbles from Micheal's which are great decorative piece to have in the house, but it just wasn't filling my need for what I was looking for. So I pulled out my jewelry box, and found a necklace I wrapped around the neck of the vase so the charm would be resting on the bigger portion of the vase. It looked amazing!!! I wish at the time, I would have taken a photo of it so I can share it with all of you, but this was a while back ago so I thought I wasn't going to be talking about my creative ideas on a blog. Also, what I have done was purchase a stretchy bracelet from the dollar tree, my favorite store, and I put that around the neck of a smaller vase. Again, it looks really nice. It dresses up the vase with the flowers. It adds in the perfect touch. You can get the bracelets at an Arts and Crafts store, Dollar Tree, Target, etc...

Inexpensive way to Pamper

I live by Dollar Tree which is my world! I like them because there are so many good products they offer to customers for just a dollar. I like to make a trip there and get creative for a low cost gift or even for myself. So this is what I came up with. I am using a candy jar I have purchased from Dollar Tree. I actually used this jar for Christmas Candy. Being that Christmas is over and I'm not a big candy eater, I have decided to use this jar as a bath spa jar for my bathroom. I like the size of this jar because when its time to refill the jar, I can always switch it up a little and put another kind of bath bead in there. However, there are so many sizes to choose from. So what I have done, was poured in some of the bath beads and added in some baby oil to it. I love how the baby oil helps to soften my skin. Plus when you open the jar, the aroma of the baby oil smells really nice. Its not heavy or to light of a scent. I would be careful to add in some baby oil to a scented bath bead as though it may take away from the scent of the bead.

I also found some pretty candle holders with some decorative rocks and two candles I choose for my bathroom. Its a nice way to save money but get the feel and look of what you want for your bathroom. I have always enjoyed the pampering feel I get when its my time to relax and prepare for my day. Its a calming place to help our bodies and mind to unwind while drinking a class of wine or hot green tea with soft music to listen to. All of these items only cost me $7.00.

Beauty Products

When you buy your beauty products, like makeup, bath oils, etc.... Do you ever wonder how long you have kept them and used them after they have expired? When I was younger, I would use my mascara until I couldn't use it anymore. When it dried out, I added some water to it and kept using it for about 2 years. Then one day, I woke up with eye discomfort and I made an appointment to go see my doctor. She said, I had gotten an eye infection. She prescribed me some medications for my eye. I went home, and went through all of my makeup and tossed everything I had that has been in my makeup bag for 2 years, plus. With that being said, old makeup, and sharing makeup can cause eye infections. So what I have started to do, is every time, I purchase a new makeup product, even my skin care products, I date them with the expired date of when they will expire. So for an example: My eyeshadow I purchased two years ago, which I have dated my eyeshadow for 12/1/2014 and my foundation is dated for 12/1/2014 as well.  I will post a Beauty Product expiration sheet on my blog under "Checklists" on Thursday.

Odor Control

I personally do not like it when my closets, car, trash cans, bathrooms, cupboards, shoes, bedrooms, etc... either it smells really bad or there is just no scent to smell. So what I have came up with which works nicely is using the car fresheners from the automotive section at a store or even Auto Zone, Peppy Boys, etc... I do not open it all the way, I only pull out the tip part of it so the scent wont be strong of a scent to where it would be too strong to have in a closed off area, like the closet. Unless of course you like strong scents. I like this method because I feel I can control how strong I want my closets to smell and the scent lasts for awhile. I have one hanging in my closet on my clothes rack, one in all of my trash cans which I place under the garbage bags. There are so many scents out there to choose from; Jasmin, Lavender, Morning Fresh, New Car Scent, Cinnamon Apple, Vanilla, Peachy Peach, just to name a few.

Kids Not Eating What They Don't Like

In this case I would use the Self Love Technique. This would be great technique for kids who struggle with eating healthy. However, I do feel they would need more of a feeling of accomplishment, something to look forward to, for when they do meet their goals. So with that being said, perhaps choosing a reward to where they can not resist the work which needs to be done to get that prize at the end of their mission. So here's an example: Calista gets a dinner plate with fries, fish sticks, and vegetables. She sees everything on her plate and she starts eating her fries first, then moves on to her fish sticks and now is full and wants to go play but is not able to until she eats her veggies. So this is what I would do. I would first have her sit down at the table and I would explain to her why its so important to eat her vegetables. I would explain to her what the rewards are for eating them. So in this example, I will use star stickers. Every time she eats all of her vegetables, she will get a star placed by her name on a chart, when the boxes fill up with stars, then she will get a barbie doll at the end of the month. Then, I would serve not only her but the whole family vegetables first, (I will choose carrots for this example), which I will only put two carrots on her plate. Once she eats the two carrots, I then will serve everyone at the table, the rest of the meal, fish sticks and fries. Then for her next meal which will be the next day, I will do the same technique but add in more carrots. Each day, I would continue to add more to her plate until I felt she is getting her portion size. This is a really good way of getting kids to eat what they don't like, because one, they are hungry, so whatever is in front of them, there is a better chance for them to eat it. Two, out of mind out of sight. If they don't get to see right away what is coming up next for dinner, which is their favorite, fries, and fish sticks, then its not going to be a tease for them. Whats not there is not visible. Three, she will see everyone else eating their vegetables. Setting good examples will always have an impact around you.

Self Love Technique

A while ago, I was researching on how to get motivated to do things in life, whether its to organize my place, walk everyday, figure out what I was going to do to live a productive life for myself. I found a method, which works, even for my boyfriend, which is a shocker! What I did was I made little pieces of paper with the rooms that I want to work on and organize, so like, bathroom cabinet, medicine cabinet shelf 1-3, linen closet shelf 1-6, personal hygiene closet shelf 1-6, coat closet, first two dresser drawers, etc.... I really broke it down, instead of doing bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, etc... it felt really overwhelming to just write down one room at a time. I would look at the room and say to myself, FORGET IT!! so that's why I broke it down to smaller sections. I folded all of the little papers and put them in a mason jar with a lid and set it on my desk. I pulled one out and the first one said, linen closet shelf number 3.So I pulled everything out from the linen closet for shelf number 3, and did my clean out (purging) and my organizing for the shelf. It took me about 20 mins to do it. Then I kept the little piece of paper and I put it in my decorate urn, yes you read it right an urn, I have on my desk.  Every so often, I will look at it to see everything that I have accomplished.  Once I was done with that shelf, I was energized to do more, so I started again, and pulled out another piece of paper.

Another good thing that works, is everyday, choose five items to work on for the piece of paper you have pulled from the jar. So for example: This time I have pulled coat closet. What I am going to do is pull 5 things I want to get rid of and I am going to do this everyday until its time to organize it and get it to the way I want it. I tried this method before, but, for me, I wanted a little more of a challenge so I did it the first way I've talked about. Just remember it doesn't matter how fast you get it done, what matters is that you got it done and should feel great about all of your accomplishments you have made. Plus now, your closet is not only clean, but organized and it will help you to keep the stress down and you will be able to know where everything is.

My second mason jar I have is called my Health Missions. In this jar, I have many missions I want to incorporate in my daily life that pertains to health. To name a few, one of my pieces of paper states, drink one bottle of water daily for a week, walk 5 mins a day, say hello to someone everyday, and more. So they are like good habits!! As you know, I broke these up as well instead of saying, eat healthy, work on social phobia, drink more water. So now, after a week has gone by, I will re-write another piece of paper that will say, walk 10 mins day, drink 2 bottles of water a day, say hello to two people a day. So as each week goes by, I will have added in more and more challenges for me to accomplish. Just remember to pull a goal each day. Oh and its decorative.
Here are the post its I use for my goals in my mason jars. I cut the sticky part of it off so they don't stick together.

Decorating Desk Space Ideas

Here are a few tips you can use to decorate your desk and your office chair. I have used a table runner before on my desk. I find it works nicely. It not only adds a touch of color, but it creates a completed space. Some other options you can use for decorating the top of you desk, is cut up a sheet you like to the width size you want and drape over desk. You can even use a throw blanket, fold in threes and drape over. For your office chair, I use a pillow and a throw blanket to tie in my office chair with my desk. The pillow I use is really comfortable for my back as well as having a throw blanket right behind me, gives me the option to use on really cold nights. Below I have posted some photos of what these look like.

Desk Space Ideas

With all of the different kinds of technology options we have these days, it allows us to become organized in our own little way. This could be from keeping track of all of our appointments, to having a built in GPS to give us directions on where we need to go, and even allowing us to have more space in our home. I use my laptop since I no longer have a desk top computer, which I feel they are big, they take up a lot of space, which I could use the space for something else. With that being said, I found that using my pull out desk drawer for a place to store some of my things, I use everyday; like my laptop. Its easy access, keeps things hidden and uses the space nicely. I will post a few pictures of some options you can use for your pull out drawer.

Keepsake Box

I don't know about you, but I feel that keys and wallets should not be showing out in the open. So what I came up with is storing the keys and wallet in a keepsake box. You can get them almost anywhere. I personally like Things Remembered just because I can have a note or something engraved on the top of the box. Its also a really nice gift to give to a loved on for him or her to have on their nightstand with their personal items in there; like a watch, wallet, keys, and other things that mean a lot to them.

What to do with Knitting Needles/ Pant Organizers

I have always struggled with my necklaces getting tangled up with other necklaces or even themselves. Its just a pain to try and get them all untangled. So what I thought is I have some extra knitting needles I don't use. So why let them sit there in my closet and take up space when I can put them to use, somehow. So I thought about hanging two hooks, which you can get at (Walmart, Dollar Tree, Rite Aid, Walgreen's, hardware store, and many more), then put some of your necklaces on a knitting needle and rest the needle on the two hooks. I am currently using a scarf organizer for my necklaces, along with my hats, and purses.

Another idea is to use a pant organizer which you can get at Bed Bath and Beyond for $7.99. I use it for all of my scarfs. There is a lot of room on these hangers to have many scarves on them. I like the way it looks and its portable if I would ever need to take it when I go on vacations.
Here is the link for the pant organizer:

Filing Pay stubs

So one day, I was cleaning out my file cabinet and saw my pay stub file was getting thick and taking up a lot of space. It was looking really bad and I wasn't able to find my current pay stub and my first pay stub I needed to get an apartment. So I came up with a system that seems to work very well. What I did was for each year I did my taxes I would print my copies of my tax forms, then I put the pay stubs for that year behind the forms. Now I feel organized and I know where my pay stubs are when I need them for the future.

Decorative Boxes

So I was cleaning out my linen closet a few months ago, and I was struggling to find out ways to save space. I had a big bottle of multi vitamins that was 500 count, b complex 100 count, etc... No matter how many times I have cleaned it and got rid of things, it still seemed like I have no room for anything. So what I have figured out, was I put all of my vitamins in a zip lock bag, (small or large; depending on how many you have) and I would label the bag with what was in the bag and the dosage amount. I then pulled out a photo box which has been empty for some time now, and I put all of my medications (which they are in there container they came in) , and vitamins in the box. Now I have so much space in my linen closet that when I need to get in there, I'm not feeling overwhelmed. The best part, being that the bags are clear, I can see how many I have left and I can plan to buy more when I run low. I love it!

Mini Makers

There are so many ways to use the mini makers like the cake pop or the donut maker. I just love these makers. I recently have used the mini cupcake maker and I cooked mini pancakes. I added in some batter a little under half way, and then I added a few M&Ms, the mini ones, and I topped with more batter. Once done and I let them cool, I topped it off with cake frosting and some sprinkles. Fast fun and easy to clean.

Coffee Creamer is not just for Coffee

Okay so one day, I was making pancakes for dinner and I was thinking on how plain my pancakes are. So I came up with a solution that worked. In my batter, I have added in liquid flavored coffee creamer and then I cooked them and they were so good!

Another good food to add in flavored coffee creamer is oatmeal. I don't know about you, but I do not like plain oatmeal. I have tried the flavors they do have like the maple and brown sugar, peaches and cream and a few others, which they all are pretty good. However, I personally like to buy in large or in bulk which helps me save money.

Last but not least, hot coco. One of my favorite drinks to have after dinner. I heat up my water for 3 minutes in the microwave, add in my hot coco, and then I add in 3 tablespoons of Irish coffee creamer. Yummy!!!

For all three of these ideas the best part of it all is, I got to control how much of the flavor I wanted to taste. Depending on your portion size will determine how much of the coffee creamer to add in to your meals or drinks.
