Toothbrush Holders in the Office

There are some toothbrush holders out there that are very pretty to not only use in the bathroom but you can use them in your office. Some of them are decorated in mosaics, which I found a nice one at Ross for cheap. I only spent $2.99 which was on clearance. It makes a great pen and pencil holder for the desk.

Leftover Madness

I remember when my mom use to make meatloaf for dinner and when she made it, she would make enough to feed an entire army! I mean she would cook a lot for only a party of four. So we would have lots of leftovers, which I remember saying to myself, we are having this again. I was getting tired of eating one thing for a few days and then sometimes the leftovers would go bad. So learning from experience, I have came up with a nice way to use up the leftovers so they dont go bad or even get boring to the eye. Cause we all know, what looks good, usually tastes good. Right? With that being said, here is a great way to use up every bit of leftovers. First thing to do is mix all of your ingredients you use for a meatloaf together in a bowl, and then depending on how many people you are cooking for, divide up the meatloaf into portion size sections for each person who will be eating that meal. Next with the left over meat you have, take that and plan another meal with it. So maybe, the next day for dinner you decide you want to cook spaghetti with meat balls. With your leftover meat you have from your meatloaf, you can make your meat balls. So now you have took care of dinner for that night as well as half of the next day meal. Another great idea, specially for children, you can use the rest of your meatloaf and shape your meat in a cookie cutter or even a shaped pan. Just remember to grease your pan/cutter so the meat wont stick. Then of course the last step is to cook your meats. So now you not only have a meatloaf, but you have meatballs that are going to taste like meatloaf as well as making a meatloaf patty for your child for lunch.

Hangers, Hangers, Hangers

It's that time to start the packing and moving out of your old place and into a new place. A new fresh chapter in our lives to make more memories, memorable. How about the packing and moving which is not to much fun specially if you have hangers every where and you just throw the in a box. Do you ever do that? I do!! I don't use wardrobe boxes, I take all of my clothes off my hangers, fold the clothes and put them in a box. Then I have another box just for my hangers..... and let me tell you, if you do this then you know what I mean, when I say, its a nightmare. My hangers get stuck in between each other and its so frustrating to pull one hanger and a bunch of them come out attached to it. Then I have hangers on the floor. No fun!! So this is my new thing I am doing. I am gathering about 10-15 hangers and taping them together just like they are when I first buy them from the store. It works GREAT!!! No mess no stress!!

Dinnerware Ideas

Here is a great idea to have portion control when eating out or even eating at home. Instead of using a large plate, downsize to a small plate, like a salad plate. Divide your plate up and place your food inside the plate keeping it away from the outer edge. This method works really good because not only is it portion control but you can actually how much is going in. Here, I have homemade red potato salad, with chicken, and a fruit salad I put together at the last minute. I use my large plates as platters like when I bake oatmeal cookies. As for my bowls, I will use them for salads.  That way, I feel like I have some use of all of my dinnerware.

Job Seekers Assistance

Years ago, I was a homemaker for many years which in my eyes, too long, until we both decided to create a life of our own. I remember thinking back to myself, now what am I going to do with my life now. I have no one to support me, I don't have many skills since I haven't been to work in years and to top it off, I did let myself go some. No one is going to hire me looking like this and not having many, if any, skills to get my foot in the door somewhere. I had no money, which its not like I can wake up and say okay, I'm going to enroll in school to learn skills so I can get a job. I was still waiting on my alimony so I could get by until I can get a job. To make matters worse, the economy isn't doing so great, so now I had another thing working against me. So I got online and started to fill out applications anyway, and hope that I would receive a call from a company who would like to interview me. After applying to about 20 companies every two weeks, with no call backs, really worried me. So this is what I have done. I first off, polished myself up to not only look good, but to feel good about myself. I put on some makeup brushed my hair, painted my toe nails, and I even dressed up some, even if I wasn't going out that day. So now, I feel good. It took some time getting ready but at least I made a positive accomplishment for that day. I then, looked over my resume and cover letter to see if there are any updates/changes I needed to make. I next, sat down with my computer, and I typed in every store I was going to apply to. Then, I typed in every company I would go on a regular basis to. So for an example: Wells Fargo Bank, Starbucks Coffee, Safeway and Luckys, Rite Aid, and so forth. I then, would go on each website to see how they want their applicants to apply, whether its in store, or online. If it was in-store, I would print out a cover letter and resume and go to the store and ask for a job application. I would turn in the application by speaking with the Hiring Manager and then I would go home and write the day I applied and the Hiring Managers name. If it was online, I would apply online, and again, keep a log of when I applied. I would wait for two business days, and I would give the store a call asking who the hiring manager is and if he/she is available. Once the Hiring Manager answered the line, I would ask them if they have received my application from online. Next, I would wait for one week later and I give the store a call and ask the status of my application, whether you have applied in store or online. Meanwhile, I was holding a mock interview with a friend over the phone and rehearsing in front of the mirror so I can watch myself to see if there would be something to change to make it better. Soon enough, I have been getting call backs. I was so excited to know that companies want to meet me. So I went for this job interview one day and the Hiring Manager said to me, I see you in here all the time. You buy the Vanilla flavored Starbucks coffee drinks. I thought to myself, very impressive! She knew the flavor of my drink. She really pays attention on who comes in her store and what they buy. She then told me about the job and asked me when I can start. So now I have learned, to apply to places I am a regular customer to better my chances of getting a job and to be persistent.

3 – Tier Organizers

The tier organizer is not only great for can foods, or spices, but it also can be used for organizing any body lotions, perfumes, medications, vitamins, any arts and crafts, and so much more you can do with these. They are expandable so they can fit on your shelf. Some of them like the one below, has a rubbery top to it so the items you put on it wont shift. They come in solid white without the rubber topping, and bamboo. You can get them at Dollar Tree, Walmart, Target, Kmart, and some other stores. There are different kinds of these organizers available; like the 3 tier wire rack.

For the dog lovers

Dollar Tree has these trash bags that are lightly scented. You get 50 in a bag for just a $1. Yes, 50 of them. I love them! They work well when I walk my dog. They make great poop bags. I store them in a drawer were all my my pet supplies are for dog walking, so they don't take up much space. I love them! They come in pink and blue. I haven't seen white, although they do have them on the Dollar Tree website.
